I look at every floor myself
I come out to every Bay Point job, look at the floor and write the estimate, so the person who sized up your slab is the one who priced it. When we do the work, I'm on site with our crew, not just stopping by.
We're Concord Precision Epoxy Flooring, a flooring contractor based in Concord, and we coat, grind, polish and repair concrete floors in Bay Point garages, homes and shops. I start with the slab, because most failed floors I've seen went wrong underneath.

Most calls we get from Bay Point start in the garage. It's often a slab that has carried cars, a workbench and the laundry for years, with oil soaked in, hairline cracks and sometimes an old paint or coating lifting at the edges. Before we talk about colors or flake, I want to know why that old finish let go, because the next one will fail the same way if we don't fix the cause.
We get calls for patios, pool decks and small shops here too, and the order doesn't change. We grind the surface open, see what the slab is doing and then pick the system that suits it.
Send the form or call (925) 536-0504, tell us about the floor and any permit questions, and we'll reply within one business day to set a visit. I come out to Bay Point myself, check what's on the slab and how it's holding up, and write you an estimate with the reasons behind it. It's free, and there's no pressure to book.
(925) 536-0504Most of our Bay Point work is garage floor coatings, either flake epoxy or a faster-curing polyaspartic, on slabs that need grinding and crack repair first. We also strip old coatings, seal and resurface patios and pool decks, and put down polished, stained and metallic floors inside. For shops and kitchens that see hot water and heavy washdowns, urethane cement flooring usually holds up better than a standard epoxy.
Bay Point is unincorporated, so there's no city hall here. Contra Costa County issues building permits and handles inspections and planning review for every Bay Point address, which means the county decides whether your floor job needs a permit. Before we schedule, I check with the county for your address, and if a permit's needed, we take care of the application and plan the work around it. The county says many projects need planning approval before a building permit can be applied for, so when yours does, that step comes ahead of our start date. The county issues permits to an appropriately licensed contractor or to the property owner, so ask any contractor you're weighing whose name will be on yours.
Bay Point is mostly single-family and multi-family homes, so much of what we see is garages at houses and slabs at apartment buildings, while the shops and businesses along Willow Pass Road and Bailey Road need floors that take harder use. We're a flooring contractor based in Concord, CA, and we do the same work next door in Pittsburg. Your price turns on the square footage, how much grinding and crack repair the slab needs, whether an old coating has to come off and which system you choose. The schedule turns on the permit question, any slab repairs and the cure time between coats, and your written estimate spells out both for your floor.

Most failed floors I've looked at went wrong underneath, from moisture, old sealer or oil in the concrete, not from the coating. We grind and check what the slab is doing first, and then I explain why we picked the system we did.
If sealing or a patch will handle it, I'll tell you before you pay for a full coating. We're licensed and insured, and our promise is short. Your satisfaction, guaranteed. Call (925) 536-0504 when you're ready to talk about your floor.
Maybe, and don't take anyone's word that you don't, because the county's permit list doesn't name floor coatings. The county's permit information says almost all projects need one, including interior and exterior remodels and repairs, and it asks owners to check with its staff. As noted above, we ask about your address before we schedule and handle the application when one's needed.
Your price comes from your floor, so I give it to you in a free written estimate after I've seen the slab. Prep usually moves the number more than the coating does, so grinding off old paint or sealer, filling cracks and dealing with oil or moisture all count, along with the size of the space. Flake epoxy, polyaspartic and metallic finishes price differently too, and I'll tell you which I'd pick for your garage and why.
Usually it's what's under the coating, not the coating itself. Moisture coming up through the slab, old sealer or paint, oil soaked into the concrete, or a surface that was only washed instead of ground will all keep a coating from bonding. That's why we grind the surface open and check the slab before anything goes down.
Start with an on-site look, so we can see the slab and settle the permit question with the county before anything goes on the calendar. Then you clear the garage, we grind, repair and coat, and you keep cars off until the coating has cured the way its maker says. I'll walk you through that wait at the estimate so you can plan around it.
It can, so I ask about water at every Bay Point estimate. The county says residents here as a whole are more exposed than most to coastal flooding, sea level rise, landslides, earthquakes and wildfire, though a single property may differ. On a slab that's seen water, we check for moisture first and usually lean toward a system that tolerates it, like urethane cement, over one that's likely to lift.
